Since she began practicing yoga, in 1994, Lisa has embraced the excitement of Hatha Yoga’s multi-layered physical practice, explored the subtle heights of meditation and the heart-opening joy of Bhakti Yoga, dedicated much time to Karma Yoga and pressed through the grit and grind of Raja Yoga’s Yamas and Niyamas, all ongoing, character-shaping quests.
Among her most pivotal influences, her training in Integral Yoga at Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville, where she continues to study and practice, and her training with Dr. David Frawley. She is certified in Ayurvedic Healing through Dr. Frawley’s American Institute of Vedic Studies and also completed his Yoga and Ayurveda Teacher Training. She studied and taught Yoga and Ayurveda in Brazil, where she lived for 15 years, and traveled to India for further study. Additionally, Lisa is certified in Stress Management and Thai Yoga; holds a degree in Dance Education; is a published translator; and is an enthusiastic student of West African drumming. Her private and group classes, workshops and retreats are marked by their depth, simplicity and a generous array of methods for living peacefully and joyfully!
